The other day I got the sudden urge to watch The Godfather. I haven't seen it in 5 years or so, and it's time for a refresher course.
So, cash in hand I head to the nearest Blockbuster. As I'm browsing through the aisles a young man walked in and asked the girl at the counter if they had... yup, The Godfather. She took a look and handed him the store's only damned copy.
What are the chances of that? The movie was made over 30 years ago, and this guy decided to steal it out from under my nose on the day I decide to get it, damn him.
So, at a loss I grabbed the closest DVD that looked watchable. Unfortunately this happened to be The Hills Have Eyes, and all I can say about it is that I regret that I'll never be able to claim back the 90 minutes of life it stole away from me. Truly, the most pointless film I've ever seen.
So why do I bring it up now? Well, I just glanced over and noticed that it's still sitting on top of my DVD player, and it was due back at Blockbuster about 5 hours ago. It continues to hurt me long after it was over. That's how awful it was.
