The End of an Era

A Small Victory's Michele Catalano has decided to throw in the towel after almost half a decade of blogging (that's around a century in blog years).  If you haven't been reading Michele regularly then 1) you are stupid or misguided, and 2) you missed one of the most engaging and entertaining writers the blogosphere has yet produced.

I hope that the strength she showed in kicking her nicotine habit isn't enough to keep her away from blogging.  If she does manage to resist the urge to come back, though, I hope she's as successful in whatever she sets her mind to next as she was at ASV.  I hope that she and her family remain happy and healthy, and I hope to see her turn up in the comments occasionally - keeping a watchful eye on us kids.

p.s.  Michele, you just ruined an otherwise excellent weekend, damn you.

That was really sweet and touching (until the end!)

Thank you, and thanks for being a part of what made ASV so much fun to do.

So many great ones leaving, the "next generation" is going to really need to bring their game up a few levels to fill the void.

I wonder if they're up to it.

Imagine who will be the next Andrew Sullivan. You could probably inject a monkey with bucketsful of hormones and sit it at a keyboard.

In fact, I'd read that blog.
